On August 20, 2026, China’s Ministry of Commerce issued Announcement No. 36 of 2026, deciding on the inheritance of anti-dumping duty rates for companies covered by the measures on imported copolymer polyoxymethylene (POM) from the US, EU, Taiwan region and Japan, effective August 21, 2026.
Background: on May 18, 2025, MOFCOM Announcement No. 25 imposed anti-dumping duties for five years on the same POM imports. POLYPLASTICS CO., LTD. (Japan) faced a 35.5% rate; POLYPLASTICS TAIWAN CO., LTD. faced 3.8%.
Following an absorption split and renaming, DAICEL CORPORATION inherits POLYPLASTICS’ 35.5% rate and rights/obligations; DAICEL HPP TAIWAN CO., LTD. inherits POLYPLASTICS TAIWAN’s 3.8% rate and rights/obligations.
Exports under the original company names are subject to the “other Japanese companies” rate of 35.5% and the “other Taiwan-region companies” rate of 32.6% respectively. In short, corporate restructuring or renaming does not erase anti-dumping obligations — critical for foreign exporters’ China pricing and compliance.
